The company?s upstream director Bambang Nugroho told reporters Monday that the most important oil finding the company made this year is from Pondok Tengah-1 (PDT-1) well in Bekasi, near Jakarta. The well, which was drilled to the depth of 2,311meters flowed 2,821 barrels of oil per day (38 API) and 3.19 MMCFD of gas through 0.5-inch choke. The company said net oil and gas pay from the well was 205 meters, with proven oil reserves estimated at 81 MMBO and probable reserves at 150 MMBO.
Bambang said Pertamina would drill several delineation wells to determine the size of the reservoir and oil production from the well is also expected to commence next year.
Pertramina had also discovered gas from Randublatung-1 well, which is located between Semarang and Surabaya.According to Bambang, the well flowed 22.41MMCFD of gas and 55.6 barrels of condensate per day through5/8 ?inch choke. The well has net gas pay of at least 150 meters, with reserves estimated at 620 billion cubic feet. Bambang said Pertamina will bring the well to become onstream in 2006 as part of its commitment to supply 130 MMCFD of natural gas for 15 years to Tambang Lorok power plant in Semarang.
According to Bambang, Pertamina is currently conducting drilling of Suban Barat-1 well in Jambi and had managed to discover 260 meters of net gas pay with recoverable gas reserves estimated at least 1.2 TCF. The company is currently drilling at the depth of 2,697 meters, out of the planned depth of 2,300 meters. Pertamina expected the drilling would be completed in 2 weeks. The well is located in one basin with ConocoPhillips? giant Suban gas field in Corridor block.
Bambang said the company's other hydrocarbon discoveries are located in Sumatra and Java operation areas.
