State oil and gas firm PT Pertamina is in talks with four companies to explore the possibility of building a 35 MW gas-fueled power plant located near an industrial estate in West Java.

The talks are still in preliminary stages and will depend on the results of a feasibility study the company is currently carrying out, said Director of Gas and Power Hari Karyuliarto told Petromindo.com.

"We're engaging in preliminary talks with several firms, two from Japan, one from South Korea and the other is national company," said Hari.

The feasibility study is targeted to be completed next year.

Hari said if materialized, the power plant may receive the gas supply from the West Java FSRU.
