State oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) may opt to extend charter contract of LNG vessel Golar Mazo, when the current contract will expire in the fourth quarter of this year.
VP LNG Didik Sasongko Widi told Petromindo.Com that Pertamina needs one additional LNG vessel to transport LNG from Eni?s Jangkrik and Chevron?s Bangka gas fields. Gas from both fields is processed into LNG at Badak NGL, East Kalimantan.
?We are currently negotiating,? Didik said without giving further detail. Under the Jangkrik deal, Pertamina is contracted to offtake 1.2 MTPA of LNG from the newly producing gas field.
Pertamina has chartered the 135,000 M3 vessel under 17-year contract since 2000 to transport LNG to overseas customers.
Golar Mazo is owned by Golar partners.
