“We have scheduled to conduct testing on the Senoro-4 well in the third week of January with completion is expected in two weeks,” head of exploration at the JOB Edi Artono said over the weekend.
The two development wells are located in the Senoro gas field, which is certified to contain around 1.5 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of natural gas.
The JOB has secured approval for the development of the gas field from upstream oil and gas authority BP Migas in May 2005. The gas field is initially designed to have two trains with total capacity of 2x120 million cubic feet per day of gas with total investment of US$250 million.
The field is expected to commence gas production in the second quarter of 2008, Edi added.
State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina and Medco E&P equally share interests in the block. (godang)
