Pertamina, Mubadala Petroleum sign MoU

State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina has recently signed a MoU with United Arab Emirates? Mubadala Petroleum for cooperation in oil and gas projects both in Indonesia and overseas.
The MoU was signed on May 19, 2017 in Jakarta by Pertamina Upstream Director Syamsu Alam and CEO of Mubadala Bakheet Al Katheeri.
Syamsu said that the MoU is the first step for the two companies to realize future cooperation in upstream projects in Indonesia owned by Pertamina and projects overseas owned by Mubadala.
He added that there is also possibility for cooperation in the downstream sector such as in LPG business.
The MoU between the two companies comes following recent bilateral meeting between Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan and visiting United Arab Emirates? Minister of Energy Suhail Mohammed Faraj Al Mazrouei as the two governments seek to bolster cooperation in the energy sector.
Syamsu said that in the near future, Pertamina and Mubadala have agreed to hold a joint workshop for exchange of information and open opportunities in a bid to realize the planned cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
