State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina is considering building a waste-fired power plant with a capacity of 1x10 MW in Surabaya, East Java, a senior official of the firm said recently.

Salis Aprilian, Senior VP at Pertamina?s Gas and Power Directorate, also said the firm has extended the contract with American firm Flour Daniels for the making of a feasibility study on a waste-to-power project in Bantar Gebang, Bekasi, West Java.

The American firm was supposed to finish the study in June this year, but Salis said Pertamina decided to extend the contract since the study has to bring a satisfactory result.
