Pertamina mulls buying spot LNG cargoes from Qatar

State oil and gas company Pertamina mulls to buy three cargoes of LNG from Qatar?s RasGas for September-October shipment to make up supply shortage from Arun NGL in Aceh, a company senior official said.

?Pertamina is mulling to buy three cargoes of LNG from RasGas,? said downstream director Muchsin Bahar. Muchsin, however, said that thus far, both Pertamina and RasGas had not held any talks on the matter.

Muchsin said the three cargoes would be shipped to Kogas.

According to Muchsin, fire incident at ExxonMobil?s Arun gas field and electricity blackout in Arun NGL last month had caused supply shortage of at least three cargoes for September and October shipment. The shortage cannot be supplied from Bontang LNG plant in East Kalimantan as the plant is already running on full capacity.(godang)
