State oil and company Pertamina said Tuesday it was currently in talk with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to process crude for Indonesia.

?We have been in talk with them since two months ago and they are offering processing fee up to 35 percent cheaper than what we get in Singapore,? said Pertamina president Baihaki Hakim on a sideline of parliamentary hearing.

Baihaki said if the deal was sealed Pertamina would start crude processing with IOCL in 2002.

Baihaki hinted that Pertamina might ask IOCL to process up to 1.8 million barrel of crude per month.

Earlier, Pertamina canceled 1.8-million?barrel-per-month crude processing deal with Caltex Singapore due to high processing fee. (godang)
