Pertamina mulls Medco acquisition: Minister

State oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) is mulling to acquire 46.4 percent stake of IDX-listed energy firm PT Medco Energi International Tbk from Encore Energy, which is controlled by the Panigoro family, media reports said quoting Minister of State Enterprises Mustafa Abubakar.

Pertamina and Medco had reportedly been in business combination talks over the past few years.

Pertamina spokesperson M. Harun, however, said Pertamina is still in internal evaluation stage and there yet any firm decision to go on with the acquisition. (*)
