State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) is negotiating with French oil, gas giant Total through its subsidiary Total Gas & Power (trading) Ltd. on a long-term supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
?Pertamina previously has been engaged in discussions with BG (UK gas producer firm), and now the company is also in negotiation with Total on a long-term supply of LNG. The LNG is expected to be delivered to Indonesia to meet the increasing demand for natural gas from 2018,? an industry source told Petromindo.com.
Early this year, Pertamina?s Director of New and Renewable Energy Yenni Andayani said that Pertamina will need to import 6.1 mtpa of LNG to meet domestic demand after 2018. The LNG will be used to supply the LNG Storage and Regassification Terminal project in Bojanegara, Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province. The planned LNG terminal will have a capacity of 500 mmscfd, or equal to 4 million tons per year of LNG.
