Pertamina, NPCP to cooperate in joint studies

State oil and gas firm PT Pertamina and Papua New Guinean National Petroleum Company of PNG Limited (NPCP) signed a preliminary agreement to explore joint business in the two countries.

The signing was made by Pertamina President Director Karen Agustiawan and Chairman of NPCP Frank Kramer in Jakarta on Tuesday, on the sidelines of a visit by Papua New Guinea Prime Minister.

Pertamina Director of Risk and Investment Management Afhdal Bahaudin told petromindo.com that the deal covers many business opportunities but cooperation in the upstream sector would be prioritized. "The MoU covers joint study at the upstream sector between the two firms. This includes as well trainings on human resources," said Afhdal.
