Pertamina NRE issues new carbon credits, sells more than 90%

Indonesia’s Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE) has issued a new batch of carbon credits totaling 35,475 tonnes of CO₂e from its biogas power plant (PLTBg) in the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone.
About 90.4% of the credits, or 32,060 tonnes of CO₂e, have already been sold to several domestic companies across the banking, trading and extractive industries.
“We did not expect this newly issued batch to be absorbed so quickly by the market. This shows how strong carbon credit demand is in Indonesia,” Pertamina NRE CEO John Anis said on Monday (Nov. 24, 2025). .……..Click here to read the full article
