Pertamina offers E.Java block for tri-partite JV

State oil and gas company Pertamina said on Thursday that it had offered Nona exploration block onshore East Java for tri-partite joint venture after partners Malaysian state oil company Petronas and Vietnam’s PetroVietnam decided that Rembang block onshore Central Java Pertamina had earlier offered was not prospective enough.

Upstream director Bambang Nugroho said Pertamina had submitted proposal to Petronas and PetroVietnam and would expect both companies to conduct evaluation on the block soon.

Pertamina, Petronas and PetroVietnam had been involved in tri-partite partnership to jointly explore for oil, gas in Vietnam and in Malaysian part of Borneo island. (godang)
