Pertamina offers exploration JV to Petronas, PetroVietnam

State oil and gas company Pertamina is offering Vietnam?s PetroVietnam and Malaysia?s Petronas to jointly exploring Kendal onshore exploration block, onshore Central Java, according to Pertamina?s president Baihaki Hakim.

Baihaki said currently both Petronas and Petrovietnam are still evaluating prospectivity of the block and conclusion whether or not to proceed is expected to be reached within the next two or three months.

The three companies had earlier formed joint venture to explore for oil in Vietnam and plan to do so in Indonesia and Malaysia. (alex)
