Pertamina oil pipe leaks in South Sumatra

E&P arm of state oil and gas company PT. Pertamina said on Monday that a leak had occurred in its pipeline that transport liquids from its South Sumatra operations to Plaju refinery on Saturday night.

Pertamina EP Corporate Secretary Suharyanto said that locals who cut the pipe caused the leak. He said that condensate from the pipe flowed into the villagers? paddy fields and fishing ponds.

Local daily Sumatra Express reported in its Monday edition that the leak had caused fire and one villager?s house was burned. No injury was reported. The fire had been put off Sunday, the daily reported. (godang)
