Pertamina opens EPC tender for Kamojang geothermal power plant

State oil and gas company Pertamina on Friday opened pre-qualification bidding for EPC tender of 60-MW Kamojang IV geothermal power plant in West Java.

Pertamina?s Geothermal General Manager Sukusen Soemarinda told reporters that EPC winner will be announced next July and construction works would commence by year end to meet target to operate the unit in 2006.

Pertamina had clinched deal with state electricity firm PLN to sell the electricity at US$ 4.425 cent/kWH.

Prior to Kamojang IV, Pertamina only sells the steam it generates to PLN. Pertamina supplies steam to Kamojang I,II and III units, which had combined capacity of 140 MW. (godang)
