State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina and the Palu City administration in Central Sulawesi signed on Thursday an MoU for cooperation in the development of gas, and new and renewable-based electricity infrastructure facilities at the Palu Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
The MoU was signed in Jakarta by Pertamina Director of Gas, New and Renewable Energy, Yenni Andayani, Palu Mayor Mulhanan Tobolotutu, and Speaker of Palu Legislative Council (DPRD) Ikbal Andi Magga.
Yenni described the Palu SEZ to have huge potential as the center for the development of various industries including agro, plantation, and mining, thanks to its strategic location, and supporting facilities such as port. She, however, said that the Palu SEZ has yet to obtain sufficient supply of energy, where Pertamina can play significant role.
