Pertamina, partners sign Qatar exploration block contract

State oil and gas firm Pertamina together with partners German's Wintershall AG, Japan's Cosmo Energy Exploration & Development has signed deal to explore a Qatari block with investment commitment of US$40.7 million.

Pertamina and partners had been awarded an onshore exploration block in called Block 3.

Pertamina would have 25 percent interest in the block, with operator Wintershall AG holding 40 percent. The remaining balance is held by Cosmo Energy. (*)
