PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, plans to develop up to 1,000 mini fuel oil stations (SPBUs) over the next five years in outlying areas of Java and Sumatra.
Pertamina Patra Niaga President Director Gandhi Sriwidodo said on Tuesday that until the end of this year, a total of 50 mini SPBUs will be developed in cooperation with small-medium scale enterprises, which will operate the fuel stations.
He said that the mini SPBUs will help ease motorists in remote regions in getting fuel supply as conventional SPBUs are mostly located in the cities.
Gandhi said that total investment will not be much as land price in outlying areas is quite cheap. He estimated investment per station, excluding land, will not exceed Rp 1 billion.
