Pertamina-PetroChina JOB runs production tests in Sukowati

JOB Pertamina-PetroChina East Java (PPEJ) is running production tests on the Sukowati-21 development well of Sukowati field in Bojonegoro, East Java.

?The production test starts today (Thursday). The well is expected to produce 3,000 bpd of oil and 3-5 mmscfd of gas,? Salis Aprilian, President Director of Pertamina Hulu Energi, told Petromindo.com.

Sukowati-21 is the last of three development wells that had been drilled by JOB PPEJ this year. The partnership is planning to drill another four wells later this year, Salis said.

At present, JOB PPEJ produces 40,000 bpd of oil with Pertamina E&P (PEP) taking 80 percent of the output, while PPEJ taking the rest. Sukowati field is located between the Cepu block, which is jointly operated by ExxonMobil and PEP, and Tuban block, operated by JOB PPEJ. In 2004, the government decided to unitize the field and put it under the operatorship of JOB PPEJ with the output shared by the contractors of both blocks. Eighty percent of wells in the field is located in Cepu block, 20 percent in Tuban, according to the government.
