Pertamina, PetroChina strike oil in W. Papua

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) and Chinese oil firm PetroChina had discovered oil during the recent drilling in Salawati Island JOB-PSC onshore West Papua, a Pertamina subsidiary official said on Tuesday.
The Bagong-2 well tested 1,177 BOPD on 64/64? choke at 10,683-10,960 feet interval late last year, Ali Mundakir, Spokesperson of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) which runs the block with PetroChina said.
The Bagong-2 well is estimated to host 2.4 million barrels of recoverable oil.
Participants in the Salawati JOB are: Pertamina (50%), PetroChina (16.8%), Lundin Petroleum (14.5%) and Pearl Oil (18.7%). (Bernard)
