Officials from state oil and gas company Pertamina and Malaysian state oil and gas company Petronas are holding a meeting today in the East Java province's capital of Surabaya to further talks on the cooperation of both companies.

Pertamina's downstream deputy director Muchsin Bahar told reporters Friday during an oil and gas workshop in Anyer, Banten that the officials would further discuss among others the possibility to set up joint cooperation in marketing asphalt and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and to establish a joint venture in retail business.

Muchsin refused to further specify the agenda of the meeting, saying it was "only a preliminary talk". (Alex/Godang)
