Pertamina, Petronas to meet in Bali on Sumatra gas sales

State oil and gas company Pertamina and Malaysian oil company Petronas will meet in Bali on from Monday to Wednesday to discuss natural gas sales from South Sumatra and West Natuna to Malaysia, according to Pertamina official.

Trijana Kartoatmodjo, head of exploration and production section at Pertamina?s directorate of production sharing management told petromindo.com Friday that South Sumatra gas supply would mainly come from Corridor block, which is operated by Gulf Indonesia Resources and other gas fields in the area, including the Jambi Merang block, which is operated by the joint operating body (JOB) comprising Pertamina and Spanish-Argentinean firm Repsol-YPF, and the Bentu block operated by Australian firm Santos.

The natural gas from South Sumatra to is expected to flow to the neighboring Malaysia at 300 million standard cubic feet per day (mmcfd) for 20 years starting from 2004, with the total revenue of US$ 4.5 billion for Indonesian government.

The Bali meeting would also discuss 100 mmcfd gas sales from Premier Oil?s Block A production sharing contract (PSC) area in South China Sea to the Angsi platform owned by Petronas in the eastern part of Malaysia, starting from 2004 for 10 years.

Robin Allan, Premier Oil Indonesia?s president told Petromindo.com that he was optimistic that Pertamina, Petronas and Premier could finalize the gas sales in September this year. (alex/godang)
