Pertamina, PGN assigned to develop household gas networks in 10 locations

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan has recently assigned state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina and state-controlled gas distribution firm PT PGN Tbk to distribute natural gas to households in several areas, and to build and operate the required gas pipeline networks this year funded by the state budget.
The ministry?s Directorate General of Oil and Gas said in a statement issued Thursday that the Jonan had on December 29 issued Ministerial Decree No 8085 K/12/MEM/2016, assigning Pertamina to distribute gas to households and build the pipeline networks in Pekanbaru City, Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency, Muara Enim Regency, Mojokerto Regency, Samarinda City and Bontang City.
The minister also issued on December 29 Ministerial Decree No 8086 K/12/MEM/2016 assigning IDX-listed PGN Tbk to distribute gas to households and build the required pipeline networks in Musi Banyuasin Regency, Bandar Lampung City, Jakarta and Mojokerto City.
The statement said that the ministry via upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas will allocate the required gas for the program.
It added that the two companies are allowed to assign subsidiaries, with minimum ownership 50 percent, to carry out the projects.
