Pertamina, PGN assigned to operate gas city networks in 21 areas

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has assigned state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina and state-controlled gas distribution firm PT PGN Tbk to operate new gas city pipeline networks developed by the government in 21 regions serving more than 80,000 households.

The ministry?s Directorate General of Oil and Gas said in a statement issued Tuesday that Pertamina has been assigned to operate new gas pipeline networks in 13 areas, while PGN in 8 areas.

The areas assigned to Pertamina include Prabumulih city, Jambi city, Sengkang city, Sidoarjo regency, Bontang city, Ogan Ilir regency, Subang regency, Bulungan regency, Bekasi regency, Lhokseumawe city, Palembang city, Depok city, and Bekasi city. The gas pipelines serve more than 58,000 households.

Meanwhile, areas assigned to PGN are low-cost apartments in Greater Jakarta Area (Jabodetabek), Bogor regency, Cirebon city, Surabaya city, Tarakan city, Sorong city, Blora city, and Semarang city, where the new pipeline networks serve more than 22,000 households.
