Pertamina pipeline broken, spilling oil into Prabumulih river

A pipeline of state oil and gas firm Pertamina in Prabumulih, South Sumatra has broken, spilling oil into the local Kelekar river, the local Palembang Post daily reported on Thursday.
Palembang Post said that the spilling of oil has caused a suffering to the people who has been using and consuming the water of the Kelekar river. The paper didn't provide details.
The paper added that the local people were demanding Pertamina to be responsible. Pertamina and local legislators are expected to visit the area soon. (*)
