State-owned oil and gas PT Pertamina will try to get Rp 6.6 trillion from local banks during next 6 months to finance among others the imports of fuel, the Koran Tempo newspaper reported in its Friday edition.
The loan scheme is being designed and it will be submitted to Bank Indonesia and the Finance Ministry.
?Hopefully, we will get help. We expect the loans will come from Bank Mandiri, BNI (Bank Negara Indonesia) and BRI (Bank Rakyat Indonesia),? Pertamina?s president director Widya Purnama said during a hearing with the House of Representatives? Commissi on Energy and Mineral Resources recently.
As per the plan, Pertamina will get Rp 3 trillion from Bank Mandiri and Rp 3.6 trillion from both BNI and BRI.
According to Widya, the loans are badly needed to meet the short-term obligations, especially to pay oil import bills. (*)
