Pertamina plans to upgrade refineries

Several investors have offered to provide funds for state oil and gas company Pertamina to upgrade its refineries.

?We already have a plan to optimize the capacity of our refineries and Japanese and South Korean investors have voiced interest to provide funds for the project,? Pertamina?s processing director A Suroso said on Wednesday.

Suroso did not specify the refineries the firm plans to upgrade as well as the South Korean and Japanese investors.

Meanwhile, Pertamina?s president Widya Purnama said the firm had signed a letter of intent with South Korean firm San Keong to build a lube base oil plant in Dumai, Riau. (Godang)
