A team from Indonesia's state-owned Pertamina, led by its President-Director Baihaki Hakim, has visited Manila this week to discuss among other things, cooperation with Philippine National Oil Co on developing geothermal resources, Platts reported.
Pertamina is looking to PNOC's expertise for developing geothermal fields in Indonesia. A joint "steering committee" established earlier this year by the two firms is already pursuing a broader cooperation in the energy sector.
Pertamina has tapped geothermal energy at its Lahendong field in North Sulawesi to run a 20-megawatt power plant. It is planning another 20 MW unit in the next two-three years, the source said. (Robert)
