The commercial operation date (COD) of the first unit of PLTP Karaha geothermal power plant (1x30 MW) in Tasikmalaya and Garut regencies, West Java, which is operated by PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero), has been postponed to March 2017, from earlier schedule of December 2016.
?There was obstacle in the Karaha project, so the original target of the COD in December 2016 has been delayed to March 2017," President Director of PGE Irfan Zaenuddin told Petromindo.com.
According to Irfan, the obstacle is caused by internal problem of the EPC contractor related to gathering system and infrastructure. "But we've been able to handle it even though there was a delay of three months,? he said.
