Pertamina Power plans biogas power plant

PT Pertamina Power Indonesia plans to develop a biogas power plant with capacity of 1.6 MW in North Sumatra Province, of which the electricity output will be supplied to support the operation of state-owned plantation firm PTPN III.
President Director of Pertamina Power, Ginanjar told Petromindo.com that the power plant will utilize palm oil mill effluent produced from nearby state-owned palm oil firms.
He said that the company is currently at the stage of finalizing preparations to start construction process of the project, located in Kota Pinang District, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency, North Sumatra. The power plant is targeted to start operation in 2018.
He added that Pertamina Power is also planning other renewable projects, but declined to disclose more information.
