PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Nunukan, the operator of Nunukan PSC in East Kalimantan, is preparing a Plan of Development (PoD) for the block.

?We are preparing the PoD, while evaluating the reserve and carrying out pre-FEED. Hopefully, we will have submitted the PoD before April next year,? PHE Nunukan?s General Manager Alfian Husein said.

The firm expects the block to start production in 2018.

He said the firm has applied to upstream authority SKK Migas for an extension of exploration term for the block.

SKK Migas? spokesman Rudianto Riambono said the agency has received any letter of application from the firm. ?We know that they need more time to prepare the PoD for the Badik structure. But, we have yet to receive the application,? he said.

PHE is the operator of the Nunukan block after acquiring the 35 percent interest of US oil and gas firm Anadarko in February of 2013. Medco Energi owns 40 percent interest in the block, with the balance equally shared by Indian Firms Videocon Industries Limited and Bharat PetroResources Limited.

The firm has found oil and gas reserve at the Badik field in the block.
