State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina is preparing mechanism for feasibility study on the FSRU Cilacap project in Central Java, an official of the firm has said.

?We are holding a tender to find a consultant to carry out a feasibility study of the project. The capacity of the facility is around 200 mmscfd. (The gas) will be supplied to support the (Cilacap) refinery (owned by Pertamina) which will be upgraded; and industries in surrounding areas,? Pertamina VP for LNG project Daniel H. Purba told Petromindo.com.

He said the tender for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract was expected to be carried in the second semester of this year, while the EPC works are expected to start in 2015 and it is expected to come onstream in the fourth quarter of 2016.

?There isn?t yet any cost estimation since the size (of the FSRU) is unusual and there are some technical aspects which are still under study status,? he said.

Regarding the supply of LNG for the facility, Daniel said if local supply is not available, Pertamina will look for supply from abroad.

It is the second FSRU to be built by Pertamina by itself. The first to be built by the firm will be located in Semarang, Central Java. The firm in a partnership with PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) has built an FSRU in North Jakarta, which has been operating for around one and a half year.
