Pertamina raises aviation fuel

State oil and gas company Pertamina said on Wednesday it had raised the price for aviation fuel for June.
Aswin Darto, company head of fuel provision for shipping and aviation, told Petromindo.Com the price for avtur (fuel for aircraft with jet and turboprop engine) for domestic airliners had increased to Rp 1,700 (US$1=Rp 8,508) per liter this month, from Rp 1,620 per liter last month.
The price of avgas (fuel for aircraft with propellers) for domestic airliners for this month is Rp 1,770 per liter, similar to the price level of last month.
He also said Pertamina had increased avgas price for foreign airliners to $62.3 US cents per liter this month, from 54.2 cents last month.
Avtur price for foreign airliners rose to 23.6 cents this month, from 22.8 cents last month.
He said Pertamina reviewed the price of aviation fuel each month based on the Mid Oil Platts Singapore price index.
However, Pertamina's price was never higher than the price in Singapore, he added.
Earlier, the national airliner association said they mulled increasing the price of airlines tickets, citing among others the increase in avtur price. (*)
