Pertamina raises fuel prices for industry

State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina raised retail prices for several non-subsidized fuels for industry beginning April 15, 2008.

Pertamina said in Jakarta Tuesday that the company?s move to increase the retail prices for fuels compared to April 1 prices was in line with the increases in Means of Platts Singapore (MOPS) prices by around 1.08 percent and 2.53 percent.

Prices for premium gasoline has been raised by 2.0 percent to Rp 7,218.60 (US$= Rp 9,200) per liter, kerosene by 1.1 percent to Rp 8,624.34 per liter and marine fuel oil (MFO) by 2.53 percent to Rp 5,293.41 per liter.

But the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) was lowered to Rp 8,293.77 from Rp 8,458.78 per liter in the April 1-14 period, while the price of marine diesel fuel (MDF) was slightly down to Rp 8,217.95 per liter from Rp 8,284.078 per liter.

Meanwhile the new price for Pertamax in Jakarta, Banten, and West Java is Rp 8,300, compared with Rp 8,200 per liter previously. The price of Pertamax Plus in the same regions have been raised to Rp 8,600 from Rp 8,450 per liter, while Pertamina Dex's price increased to Rp 10,200 from Rp 10,100 per liter and BioPertamax to Rp 8,300 from Rp 8,200.

Prices of fuels for public transportation are maintained at Rp 4,500 per liter for premium gasoline and Rp 4,300 per liter for HSD. Price for subsidized kerosene for household and small industry consumption is maintained at Rp. 2,000 per liter. (denny)
