Pertamina raises fuel prices for industry

State oil and gas firm PT Pertamina raised retail prices for several oil-based fuels for industry beginning March 1.

Under the decree signed on February 27, 2007, Pertamina sets new prices for diesel fuel, diesel oil and high-speed diesel in line with the Mild Oil Platts Singapore (MOPS) index in February.

The prices for diesel fuel has been raised by 1.8 percent to Rp 4,983 per liter, marine diesel fuel by 1.5 percent to Rp 4,772.90 per liter and marine fuel oil by 8.0 percent to Rp 3,205,40 per liter.

Pertamina's public relations affairs head Toharso said that the retail price for premium gasoline has been slashed by 0.9 percent to Rp 4,650.60 per liter. The company has also cut the price for kerosene by up to 2.7 percent to Rp 5,512.40 per liter.

Meanwhile, the price of high-octane gasoline Pertamax has been raised to Rp 4,900 per liter from the previous Rp 4,750 per liter. The prices for Pertamax Plus and Pertamina Dex have been raised to Rp 5,250 per liter and Rp 5,570 per liter from the previous Rp 4,900, and 5,550 respectively.

The company has also increased the price of Biopertamax gasoline to Rp 4,900 from Rp 4,740 per liter.

Pertamina uses MOPS as benchmark to determine fuel prices every month. (godang)
