Pertamina raises fuel prices for industry by up to 11 percent

State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina raised retail prices for several non-subsidized fuels for industry by up to 11.1 percent beginning April 1, 2008.

Pertamina said in Jakarta Monday that the company?s move to increase the retail prices for fuels compared to March 15 prices was in line with the increasing Means of Platts Singapore (MOPS) around 1.06 percent and 10.33 percent.

Prices for premium gasoline has been raised by 1.7 percent to Rp 7,080.13 (1US$= Rp 9,220) per liter, kerosene by 10.3 percent to Rp 8,532.07 per liter, high-speed diesel (HSD) by 8.7 percent to Rp 8,458.78 per liter, marine diesel fuel (MDF) by 11.1 percent to Rp 8,284.078 per liter and marine fuel oil (MFO) by 3.9 percent to Rp 5,166.52 per liter.

Meanwhile new prices for Pertamax in Jakarta, Banten, and West Java is Rp 8,200 per liter from the previous Rp 8,100 per liter. Prices for Pertamax Plus in the same regions have been raised to Rp8,450 per liter from the previous Rp 8,300 per liter, Pertamina Dex to Rp 10,100 per liter from the previous Rp 9,100 per liter and BioPertamax to Rp8,200 per liter from the previous Rp 8,100 per liter.

Prices of fuels for public transportation are maintained at Rp 4,500 per liter for premium gasoline and Rp 4,300 per liter for HSD. Price for subsidized kerosene for household and small industry consumption is maintained at Rp. 2,000 per liter. (denny)
