Pertamina raises fuel prices for industry by up to 4.6 percent

State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina raised retail prices for several non-subsidized fuels for industry by up to 4.6 percent beginning March. 15, 2008.

Pertamina said in Jakarta Saturday that the company?s move to increase the retail prices for fuels compared to March 1 prices was in line with the increasing Means of Platts Singapore (MOPS) around 1.06 percent and 5.91 percent.

Prices for premium gasoline has been raised by 3.4 percent to Rp 6,964 (1US$= Rp 9,220) per liter, kerosene by 4.2 percent to Rp 7,736 per liter, high-speed diesel (HSD) by 4.6 percent to Rp 7,780 per liter, marine diesel fuel (MDF) by 4.4 percent to Rp 7,458 per liter and marine fuel oil (MFO) by 1.1 percent to Rp 4,970 per liter.

Meanwhile new prices for Pertamax in Jakarta, Banten, and West Java is Rp 8,100 per liter from the previous Rp 7,850 per liter. Prices for Pertamax Plus in the same regions have been raised to Rp8,300 per liter from the previous Rp 8,100 per liter, Pertamina Dex to Rp 9,100 per liter from the previous Rp8,700 per liter and BioPertamax to Rp8,100 per liter from the previous Rp 7,850 per liter.

Prices for Pertamax, Pertamax Plus, Pertamina Dex, and BioPertamax in other regions have also been raised to between Rp 150 and Rp 450 per liter.

Prices of fuels for public transportation are maintained at Rp 4,500 per liter for premium gasoline and Rp 4,300 per liter for HSD. Price for subsidized kerosene for household and small industry consumption is maintained at Rp. 2,000 per liter. (godang)
