Pertamina raises prices of non-subsidized fuels

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina has raised the prices of non-subsidized fuels by between Rp 50 and Rp 300 (1US$ = Rp 9,080) per liter in line with the rise in fuel prices in the international market, Kontan daily reported Monday.

Beginning April 1, the price of Pertamax fuel for the greater Jakarta distribution area was, for example, increased by Rp 50 to Rp 6,850 per liter, while the price of Pertamina Dex was increased by Rp 100 to Rp 7,500 per liter.

Pertamina kept the price of Pertamax Plus except at the distribution areas of Central Java and Kalimantan. In these two areas, the price of Pertamax Plus was increased by Rp 200 to Rp 7,400 per liter and Rp 7,600 per liter, respectively.

Meanwhile Shell Indonesia reported that it had lowered the price of non-subsidized fuels by about Rp 100 per liter. The prices of Shell Super fuel and Shell Super Extra were, for example, lowered to Rp 6,700 per liter and Rp 6,600, respectively. Shell, however, kept the price of the Shell Diesel fuel unchanged.

Shell spokesperson Fathia Syarif said that the company lowered the prices of Shell Super and Shell Super Extra due to the surge in the value of rupiah against the US dollar. (*)
