Pertamina raises the production of Aceh's Rantau oil field

Pertamina has successfully raised the production of its Rantau oil field, one of brown (old) oil fields operated by the company in Aceh and North Sumatra, by 652 barrels per day thanks to the use of the enhanced oil recovery technology, Investor Daily reported on Monday.

With the increase in the production of the Rantau oil field, located in Rantau district, Aceh, the state owned oil and gas company is able to increase the oil production in the two provinces.

Ridwan Nyak Baik, the general manager of Pertamina's units for North Sumatra and Aceh, said that the average crude oil production in the two areas had reached a total of 4,506 barrels per day during the first semester of this year, an increase of 23 percent from 3,643 barrels per day in the same semester, last year.
