State oil and gas company PT.Pertamina (Pertamina) will re-tender EPC works to modify its Cilacap refinery in Central Java due to lack of bidders.
Processing Director Rukmi Hadihartini told Petromindo.Com on Monday that the tender failed as only Japanese contractor Toyo Engineering Corp. submitted proposal.
Rukmi said the re-tender might be opened early next year.
Pertamina and Japanese firm Mitsui Corp will team up to modify the refinery in a bid to increase its crude processing capacity to 410,000 barrels per day (bpd) from 348,000 bpd at present.
Pertamina will have a 20 percent stake in the US$1.8 billion project in partnership with Mitsui taking a 80 percent stake. (godang)
