State oil and gas company PT Pertamina will appoint an independent auditor to audit all costs spent by gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) related with the preparation of the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) Belawan, near town of Medan in north Sumatera, spokesperson of Pertamina M. Harun told Petromindo.com.
He made the statement after the government made final decision about the two projects. The Minister of State Enterprise Dahlan Iskan has instructed Pertamina to carry on the modification of Arun LNG plant to become a receiving and regasification terminal. At the same time, the minister asked PGN to relocate the planned FSRU Belawan project to Lampung in southern Sumatera. As a consequence, Pertamina is instructed to cover costs that have incurred during the preparation of the FSRU Belawan, being developed by PGN.
Harun hinted that not all costs that have been spent by PGN related with the project will be covered by Pertamina. ?The audit will determine which costs will be covered by Pertamina and which costs should be born by PGN,? he said.
