Pertamina reports Igas to police

Earlier, Igas filed a report with the police, claiming the state-owned firm had failed to meet its contractual obligation to the firm, causing a big amount of losses on the firm.
Igas is the supplier of natural gas to several industrial companies in Cibitung and Cikarang in West Java.
Pertamina recently stopped gas supplies to the firm on the grounds that the firm had failed to pay the firm for the amount of gas stated in the take-or-pay contract. Igas has refused to make a full payment, citing that it had yet to receive the gas at the amount stated in the contract. Pertamina claimed that Igas could not receive the supply at full amount because the latter had failed to build its pipeline network on time.
"All the allegations of Igas against Pertamina were not true. That's why our client filed a counter report with the police this morning (Thursday morning) for unpleasant attitude and defamation," Pertamina's lawyer Petrus Bala Pattyono told the reporters on Thursday in Jakarta.(*)
