State owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina restarted its Dumai refinery in Riau on Friday after a one-day shutdown because of faults at the main unit.
"We have restarted the refinery. It take two or three days for the refinery to resume a normal operation," Surosow Atmomartoyo told reporters.
The refinery which has a processing capacity of 120,000 barrels per day, produces fuel products such as diesel and kerosene.
Earlier, a Pertamina official in Dumai, was quoted by Detik.Com as saying that Pertamina was forced to completely halt the refinery operations after a pump motor exploded.
The official said the refinery stopped producing fuel since Thursday. (Godang)
