CEO Tri Siwindono told Petromindo.Com that the well, which was drilled to the depth of 1,600 meters, was part of Pertamina?s campaign to reactivate drilling program in West Papua working area.
Tri said that the well had been indicated to contain oil.
Meanwhile, Tri also said Pertamina would start production of Karang Enggal well in Indramayu, West Java this week at planned initial rate of 500 barrels per day.
Karang Enggal was discovered earlier this year and production was accelerated under put-on-production (POP) method, which allows the well to be produced prior to submission of plan of development (POD).
After production commences, Pertamina will drill several delineation wells within the field and would submit POD to optimize production from the block, he said. (godang)
