Pertamina?s aviation fuel sales reach 3.1m kl

Pertamina Aviation, a unit of state oil and gas company Pertamina?s commercial and marketing business, sold a total of 3.1 million kl of avtur (aviation turine) or jet fuel last year exceeding the 3 million-mark for the first time since the company began the business.

Pertamina?s president director Karen Agustiawan, said that the success indicated that the business unit and its personnel had the professional capability to compete with competitors in the international market. ?The success in reaching 3 million kiloliters indicates that Pertamina is ready to compete with global players,? she said in her address at a ceremony to mark the business unit?s success to reach 3 million kl sales.

Since 2009, the new business unit has provided avtur sale services not only to local airlines but also foreign carriers including those coming from Singapura, Malaysia, Thailand, UEA, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, China, France and Belgium, Germany, Turky and the United States.

The business unit?s avtur sales increased significantly during the last few years. The sales rose to 3.1 million kl in 2010 from 2.8 million kl in 2009.In 2008 avtur sales rose to 2.6 million kl from 2.5 million kl in 2007 and 2.4 million kl in 2006.(godang/giok)
