Pertamina?s boss dismisses resignation rumor

Karen Agustiawan, President Director of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, dismissed rumors that she had tendered resignation following pressure from a certain presidential candidate asking for financial supports

The rumor was cited by legislator Alvin Lie of the PAN party. Alvin supported the Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto pair in the current presidential election.

Alvin said he heard rumors saying Karen had tendered resignation because she could not withstand pressure from the campaign team of a presidential candidate who demanded Pertamina to contribute to the campaign. Alvin however did not specify the presidential candidate.

Pertamina?s Chief Commissioner Sutanto is reportedly part of the campaign team of the Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono-Boediono pair.

Karen dismissed the rumors, saying: ?There is no pressure from anyone. Our relationship with either the commissioner or stakeholders is good.? (Godang)
