State oil and gas company Pertamina's president Baihaki Hakim would visit Taiwan, South Korea and Japan this week to meet the buyers of Indonesia's liquefied natural gas (LNG) products.

"As a trader, Pertamina should be active in marketing its products outside the country," Baihaki told Petromindo.Com on Friday after a meeting with Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro.

The three countries are known to be the region's largest LNG market as well as the buyers of Indonesia's LNG products.

Spokesman for Pertamina's production sharing contract (PSC) directorate A Sidick Nitikusuma said on Monday Baihaki would leave the country on Wednesday and return on Feb. 8.

He said the visit was an annual program aimed at strengthening ties between Pertamina and its customers.

Pertamina's president was usually accompanied by Pertamina's marketing team during the visit, Sidick explained. (Godang)
