Pertamina's pipeline supplying crude oil from the company's Tempino oil field in Jambi to the Plaju refinery plant in Palembang leaked on Wednesday, spraying a large amount of crude oil to the main road in Sukarami district near Palembang.

Sumatra Express daily reported that the leakage occurred at the segment of the pipeline located in Jalan Sukarela in the Sukarami district. The crude oil from the leaked pipe flooded the road in the village but no injuries and fires were reported.

According to the newspaper, a team of Pertamina's workers from its subsidiary Elnusa immediately came to the location to repair the leakage. It, however, has not yet been known the cause of the leakage. (*)
