The daily reported that the leakage occurred in the pipeline segment located on Jalan Merdeka, near Palembang, the provincial capital of South Sumatra. The leakage did not cause massive oil spills as Pertamina's official immediately rushed to the location to mend the leakage.
"The leakage was caused by a damage in one of the valves of the crude pipeline," said a Pertamina official.
A major leakage occurred recently on Pertamina's aging gas pipeline in South Sumatra, causing, a massive gas blowout. (*)
